Review TL;DR

LeoVegas is an excellent option for esports bettors, as it has a fantastic range of esports available to bet on. The site takes its responsible gambling requirements very seriously, which is great to see, and there are other site attributes that help it stand out, including the fact that there's no maximum withdrawal. That being said, the site could do with adding more payment methods, and the help centre and general navigation of the site could use some improvement.

LeoVegas Review

LeoVegas is one of newer competitors in the iGaming market, but has quickly cemented itself at the forefront of the industry. With a good esports offering, alongside a solid traditional sports and casino selection, we’ve taken a look at everything LeoVegas has to offer. To make sure our LeoVegas review is as comprehensive as possible, we’ve checked out the following aspects of the site:

  • Registering for an account
  • Making a deposit
  • Claiming a welcome bonus
  • Placing an esports bet
  • Making a withdrawal
  • Checking the customer support

Guides you will find as part of our LeoVegas Review

LeoVegas Sign Up Offer

All esports betting sites will provide players with the opportunity to claim one of a range of bonuses and promotions. At LeoVegas, this is no different. New players can claim a LeoVegas esports bonus by clicking on the ‘Promotions’ button on the top of the navigation bar.

For new players, the LeoVegas sign up bonus entitles players to a 100% profit boost up to £100 on their first deposit! There are other promotions available, including a casino bonus offering 50 free spins and a deposit match up to £100. For more information on the other LeoVegas bonuses available, visit our ‘LeoVegas Offers‘ page.

Opinion
Straight Face Icon A good range of bonuses, but esports fans may be disappointed

LeoVegas has a good range of bonuses and promotions that can be used on sports, esports and casino, but esports fans may not find something that interests them. The only promotion available to esports fans is a Profit Boost bonus, which requires players to make a deposit and win their bet. However, we did like that LeoVegas caters equally to sports and casino fans.

Register For a New LeoVegas Account

Once you’ve decided on a LeoVegas esports bonus, you’ll need to register for a LeoVegas account in order to claim it. To do this, click on the ‘Open Account’ button at the top of the site. Select one of the welcome bonuses mentioned above, add your contact and personal information, and then click ‘Create Account’.

Remember, LeoVegas is licensed by the Gambling Commission of Great Britain, so is legally required to validate the identity of all its players using an extensive Know Your Customer (KYC) process. For this, players may be required to submit one of the following documents:

  • Utility bill
  • Passport or driving licence
  • Credit or debit card
Opinion
Straight Face Icon A slightly over complicated registration process that still gets the job done

The registration process at LeoVegas is perfectly fine, but is more complicated than a lot of the site’s competitors. While most esports betting sites try to make the process as intuitive and as non-time consuming as possible, registering for a LeoVegas account is definitely more difficult than it needs to be. Still, despite being slightly long-winded, it is definitely still worth completing.

LeoVegas Payment Methods Information
Opinion
Straight Face Icon Limited options and limited information available

LeoVegas’ payment options really lets the site down. While there are several standard methods available here, the site is missing options offered by competitors, such as Neteller and paysafecard. The site also makes finding this information difficult, and we had to speak to live chat support to confirm deposit limits.

Cryptocurrency Available at LeoVegas

There are currently no cryptocurrency payment methods available at LeoVegas. This isn’t something that many UK esports betting sites offer, but would be a great thing to see LeoVegas include in order to help the site stand out from its competitors.

Learn How to Deposit on LeoVegas

If your account is all set up, you’ll need to make a deposit if you’re going to start betting on esports at LeoVegas. To do this, click the green funds button at the top of the site. This will open up a new window, in which you can select one of the above payment methods, add your details and confirm the deposit.

Opinion
Happy Icon Straightforward depositing, as it should be

LeoVegas has really hit the nail on the head with the depositing feature. The process is incredibly streamlined and should have players making esports bets as quick as a flash. We really liked that LeoVegas prompts players to claim a promotional offer, if they want to; it’s a good option for players that may have forgotten what bonuses are available to them.

What Esports Games Does LeoVegas Offer?

A solid selection of esports at LeoVegas

LeoVegas has done a good job of keeping up with its competitors in terms of its esports options. Admittedly, there are some noticeable omissions here, including Call of Duty, but players can bet on a healthy range of esports. We liked that LeoVegas is continuing to encourage Dota 2 and Starcraft II betting, as well as Valorant. It seems like the company knows its esports and has chosen to host both old-school and newer games.

LeoVegas offers players a good selection of esports to bet on. These can be found by clicking ‘Sports’, ‘Browse sports’, ‘More, and then ‘Esports’.

LeoVegas CS:GO Betting

The LeoVegas CS:GO betting options are excellent. LeoVegas offers all major CS:GO events, including region-specific series and most of the biggest tournaments and individual events. We’ve seen bigger CS:GO offerings elsewhere, but this is more than enough for players to be getting on with.

LeoVegas League of Legends Betting

The LeoVegas LoL betting choices are also very good. From a quick glance, it looks like almost every League of Legends event and tournament is covered by LeoVegas, including regional championships, Worlds and random, smaller-scale invitationals.

LeoVegas DOTA Betting

LeoVegas goes above-and-beyond with its Dota betting options. Lots of UK esports betting sites seem to be offering less and less Dota betting markets, but LeoVegas continues to enable players to bet on the game’s Pro Series, Division 2, The International, and everything in between.

LeoVegas FIFA Betting

LeoVegas offers betting on the main FIFA events, including the FIFA eWorld Cup. LeoVegas doesn’t seem to cover smaller events, but FIFA betting fans will find the most important tournaments here.

LeoVegas Overwatch Betting

LeoVegas’ Overwatch betting options are very strong. Fans of the Overwatch League will be well catered for at LeoVegas, which also allows players to bet on the Summer Showdown, invitationals, Grand Finals, Overwatch Contenders, and more.

LeoVegas CoD Betting

At the time of writing, it doesn’t look like LeoVegas offers Call of Duty betting. Although LeoVegas Call of Duty betting would be good to have, the site has a number of other excellent options for esports betting fans. This also doesn’t mean that LeoVegas won’t add CoD betting in the future.

An impressive selection of esports betting markets

LeoVegas offers bettors an excellent range of esports betting markets. As well as the usual outright winner bets, players can also bet on some esport-specific markets, including total hero kills. This diversity is great and shows that LeoVegas is really on the money with their esports offering. We would have liked to see this range across all esports, but this is certainly an excellent start.

LeoVegas enables a good range of different bets to be placed on esports. Players can bet on live matches, as well as place pre-match bets. It’s also worth noting that LeoVegas is one of the only betting sites that shows statistics about the game that’s being played, to help educate bettors on the match.

LeoVegas Esports Betting Markets

In terms of esports betting markets, LeoVegas has provided players with a good range. Players can bet on traditional sports betting markets, including outright winner, but the site also allows for esports-specific bets to be placed.

  • Map handicap
  • Total maps
  • Correct map score
  • Map [X] winner
  • Map betting – kills (total hero kills, first hero to [X] kills)
  • Champion kills handicap
  • Total minutes played

LeoVegas does a good job of introducing betting markets specific to a particular game, although some esports have less betting markets than others. For example, when betting on Valorant, players can usually only bet on the outright winner of the match.

LeoVegas Esports Betting Odds

LeoVegas’ esports odds lets them down somewhat

LeoVegas’ odds are slightly lower than industry standard, which is a real shame. Considering the site’s excellent esports offering, it would be nice if it offered the odds to match. The Vigorish percentage, which demonstrates the percentage commission LeoVegas takes from an event, is considerably higher than its competitors, which is definitely something for players to consider.

Unfortunately, LeoVegas’ esports betting odds leave a little to be desired. With a VIG score of between 10-12% on average, LeoVegas is trailing a little behind its competitors where odds are concerned. The LeoVegas esports odds aren’t bad, but players could potentially find better elsewhere.

Players can choose to display their betting odds as either fractions, decimals or in an American-style.

Placing an Esports Bet on LeoVegas

After making a deposit, you should now be ready to learn how to place a bet on LeoVegas. Make sure you’re logged into your account and select the esport that you want to bet on. Choose a match or event that you want to bet on, pick a betting market, and then select the bet that you believe will be successful. This will automatically add it to your betting slip. From here, decide on your stake and place the bet. Now, you just need to wait!

Opinion
Happy Icon The betting aspect of LeoVegas is something that it does right

Compared to some aspects of the LeoVegas site, which are a little complicated, the process of placing bets is really straightforward. Granted, it’s a little long-winded trying to access the actual ‘Esports’ page, but once you’re there, it’s really intuitive.

Withdraw Your LeoVegas Winnings

Withdrawing winnings from an esports betting site is one of the most satisfying parts of the whole process, but how does it work? To make a LeoVegas withdrawal, click the green funds button at the top of the screen, much like you would when making a deposit. Click the ‘Withdraw’ tab, select a payment method and decide how much money you would like to withdraw. Make sure your payment details are correct and click ‘Withdraw’.

Opinion
Happy Icon Withdrawing from LeoVegas is intuitive and fast

Making LeoVegas withdrawals is really straightforward. The site lays out its withdrawal process very clearly, and players should have no issues figuring everything out for themselves. For those that do struggle, the Help Centre should provide most additional information. We had no problems making withdrawals and think that LeoVegas does a better job here than a lot of its competitors.

Good support, but lacklustre help centre

LeoVegas offers good customer support, for the most part, but there are some places in which it could improve. The site’s help centre offers a minimum amount of help for players, but other sites have a much better range of FAQs for players to use. The live chat support was incredibly helpful and polite, but the site is only available in English, which is a huge shame.

LeoVegas has a good range of options for players that need additional support. At the top of the screen, players can access the ‘Support’ section. As well as this, there are other options for players to explore.

LeoVegas Usability and User Experience

Review Statement
Usability

An uncomfortable site to place esports bets on

The navigation at LeoVegas is definitely not one of its strong-suits. The site is a little uncomfortable to use, and although the site is attractive to look at – if you like orange! – processes could definitely be made more intuitive. User experience is definitely somewhere that LeoVegas falls behind its competitors.

The LeoVegas site is attractive to look at, with a consistent orange and white theme running across the site. There are some things that are a little jarring to experience, however. For example, the site opens everything with a pop-up window which has to be closed before players can continue with where they were at. The navigation across the site leaves a lot to be desired and it’s definitely not the most-user friendly site.

LeoVegas on Mobile

LeoVegas is one of the best betting options for mobile use. The site has previously won awards for its mobile application, and it’s clear how much value the company places on people being able to enjoy esports and traditional sports betting wherever they are.

LeoVegas Android App

Winner of the ‘Best Native App’ at the EGR Marketing and Innovation Awards 2017, the LeoVegas Android app is an excellent option for mobile betting fans. Players can download the app from the Play Store (which can be accessed through the LeoVegas site) and enjoy the same experience as the desktop version, but on-the-go!

LeoVegas iOS App

The iOS LeoVegas esports app is a great chance for Apple mobile users to take the sportsbook and casino on their travels. With similar features to the desktop version, and perfectly optimised for mobile use, players should have no grievances with LeoVegas’ mobile app.

Opinion
Happy Icon One of the best mobile betting sites in the UK

LeoVegas surpasses a lot of its competition with its excellent mobile offering. Having won awards for its app, it’s hardly surprising that there is a lot to shout about. The mobile version of the site – both through the app and the phone’s web browser – are excellent, and intuitively designed. We had no concerns or issues regarding the LeoVegas mobile app.

Players need not worry when betting at LeoVegas

LeoVegas is licensed and regulated by the Gambling Commission of Great Britain. This makes it a fantastic option for UK-based players, who can rest assured that their funds are safe, as is their data. We were particularly impressed with how easy LeoVegas made it to find the necessary legal information.

LeoVegas is a safe and licensed sportsbook, making it a solid option for UK-based esports bettors. The site implements a range of measures to ensure player safety is adhered to. We’ll delve into some of these below.

LeoVegas: Full List of Licences

LeoVegas is licensed and regulated in the UK by the Gambling Commission of Great Britain.

What Makes LeoVegas Safe?

LeoVegas is safe because of the licences listed above. Because of its licence with the Gambling Commission of Great Britain, LeoVegas promises to:

  • Keep player funds safe
  • Keep player data secure
  • Make sure odds are fair

On top of this, LeoVegas makes it incredibly easy to find the necessary legal information on their site, and their bonus terms and conditions are easy to find and easy to follow.

LeoVegas Responsible Gambling

Due, in part, to its licensing by the Gambling Commission of Great Britain, LeoVegas has to adhere to very strict responsible gambling policies. It does this by offering a ‘Safer Gambling’ tab at the top of the site, from which players can access a variety of different features:

  • Self-assessment
  • Deposit limit
  • Loss limit
  • Session limit
  • Wagering limits
  • Player history
  • Reality check
  • Time out

The site also advertises a range of external companies and tools that players can utilise if they’re really struggling.

Opinion
Happy Icon LeoVegas takes its responsible gambling responsibilities very seriously

LeoVegas proudly advertises its ‘Safer Gambling’ section to players, going above-and-beyond to keep its players safe. We love that LeoVegas puts its responsible gambling page at the top of the site, where other companies often hide it away. It’s clear that LeoVegas cares about its players, which is great to see.

LeoVegas: A Good Option for Esports Betting Fans

LeoVegas is a good option for fans of esports betting. First and foremost, the site has a good selection of esports and betting markets. Players can bet on both live and pre-match markets, and we were pleased that LeoVegas has chosen to offer some esports that its competitors have neglected. However, the site itself feels a little clunky to use, and we would like to see some additional payment methods offered. Overall, we can confidently recommend LeoVegas to UK-based esports bettors.

FAQs

LeoVegas has good esports odds, although perhaps not as good as some of its competitors. LeoVegas has a higher Vigorish percentage than other sites we’ve tested, meaning the site takes a slightly higher commission on esports events. However, the odds are not terrible, so this shouldn’t necessarily put players off choosing it as their esports betting site.
